Good Vibes Only (and a Little Self-Promotion)

What a great morning I’ve had!
Yes, I know, that’s a bold opening. But I genuinely have a pep in my step today.
You see, my morning has been full of positivity and joy, and I can’t help but want to pass that on. There must be something in the air
(⚠️ warning: shameless self-promotion incoming) because the moment I stepped through the doors at Wonder Woman Fitness this morning , the good vibes just kept rolling in like the most delightful tsunami imaginable.
My first client of the day had slept well, which, trust me, is almost unheard of for a 5:15 a.m. start! She came in bright-eyed, full of energy, and ready to take on the world.
Client number two told me mid adductor push that training twice a week has changed her life, how much stronger she feels, how much she enjoys our sessions, and how lucky she is to have found me. Gold star number two!
Then client number three handed me an actual gift, beautifully wrapped no less, with a card that read: “Thanks for being the cheapest and most proactive psychologist I’ve ever had.” Honestly, I nearly spat out my protein shake.
(For any psychologists reading this, please know I have the deepest respect for your work and no plans whatsoever to move into your field. Promise! 😄)
Now, I’m not sharing these stories to boast, well maybe just a tiny bit. I’m sharing them because they reminded me how powerful a few kind words can be and how rarely we use them.
We don’t say nice things nearly often enough, do we?
When was the last time you told your friend how much you adore having them in your life?
Or told a colleague they’re brilliant at what they do?
Or even told your favourite barista that their coffee genuinely makes your morning?
We’re quick to whinge, moan, and complain but slow to hand out compliments unless it’s someone’s milestone birthday or a big life event. And yet, a few positive words can completely shift the tone of someone’s day, case in point, mine!
So here’s my little challenge for you. Hand out a few more compliments this week. Say the nice thing. Send the text. Tell the person. Because positivity doesn’t just ripple outward, it bounces right back at you.
But fair warning… while I’m a big advocate for positive reinforcement, don’t expect me to start handing out compliments about your kettlebell swing unless you’ve really earned it. 😏
And in this same spirit of appreciation, I genuinely want to thank you for reading my blogs. It means a lot to me that you take the time. 🩵
